SummaryText
The Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) Communication Toolkit consists of communication materials, tools, and guiding documents. The toolkit focuses on affected audiences in Nyanza province, Kenya, and includes a communication guide that builds upon the national strategy. The guide follows the structure and sequence of C-Planning, a communication process used by C-Change. The kit includes, in PDF format: communication materials, posters and pamphlets, a video, tools, a video discussion guide, a guide to working with the media, and a guide for adapting materials.
The toolkit is part of an initiative of the Government of Kenya (GOK) through the support of the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation (MOPHS), the National AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) Control Programme (NASCOP), and the Department of Health Promotion, along with international partners.
Each section of the communication guide is organised according to C-Planning. C-Change emphasises that information be tailored to specific audiences, including women, faith leaders, business leaders, and village elders. In addition, emphasis is placed on developing materials to address different information needs at different stages in the behaviour change process.
In 2012, C-Change adapted (and translated into Luo) a set of Toolkit components for use in the Nyanza Province. Click here to access guidance documents, posters, and leaflets in Luo. To access the toolkit in all other languages, please see the URL below and scroll down to "Links".
